- Please Note - Turning the handle will not close the bail automatically. This is a performance feature on larger saltwater reels and not a defect in the design. Simply make your cast and manually close the bail to begin your retrieve.

For size 3000 & 4000 Kapstan Elite Spinning reels, you have the option to use the handle to close the bail. The size 5000/6000 & 8000 Kapstan Elite spinning reels have a separate design, requiring manual closure of the bail for retrieval to begin.
